FractionsWhat is ¾ of 160?
- A) 80
- B) 100
- C) 120
- D) 140
C — ¾ × 160 = 120. Divide by 4 first (= 40), then multiply by 3.
AlgebraSolve for x: 3x + 7 = 22
- A) x = 3
- B) x = 5
- C) x = 7
- D) x = 9
B — Subtract 7 from both sides: 3x = 15. Divide by 3: x = 5.
GeometryA rectangle has a length of 9 cm and a perimeter of 26 cm. What is its width?
- A) 3 cm
- B) 4 cm
- C) 5 cm
- D) 8 cm
B — Perimeter = 2(length + width). 26 = 2(9 + w), so 13 = 9 + w, giving w = 4 cm.
How scores work
Eduentry uses a standardised scale with a mean of 100 and standard deviation of 15 — the same scale used by Wechsler, NFER, and most UK standardised assessments.
| Score range | Classification | Percentile |
|---|---|---|
| 120+ | Exceptional | Top 9% |
| 110–119 | Above Average | 75th–91st |
| 95–109 | Average | 37th–63rd |
| 85–94 | Below Average | 16th–36th |
| <85 | Needs Support | Below 16th |

Frequently asked questions
Is the Maths assessment free?
Yes, completely free for all families. Every family receives the full adaptive Maths assessment and standardised score report at no cost.
What maths topics does the assessment cover?
The assessment covers number operations, algebra, geometry, fractions and percentages, and data handling. Questions span KS1 to GCSE level and are adaptively calibrated to your child's age and current ability.
How long does the Maths assessment take?
The Maths section contains 15 adaptive questions with a 30-minute total section time limit. Most children complete it in 20–25 minutes.
How does the Maths score relate to the 11+?
Eduentry's standardised score (mean 100, SD 15) is directly comparable to GL Assessment SAS scores used in the 11+. A score of 111+ is broadly equivalent to the selective register threshold in most 11+ areas.
How to prepare
- 1
Secure the times tables up to 12×12 first — almost every maths topic from fractions to algebra runs faster with instant recall.
- 2
Show all working, even on practice papers. Marks are often given for method, and errors are much easier to trace and correct.
- 3
Target the specific topics where marks are lost most frequently at KS2: fractions, percentages, and word problems.
- 4
Use past KS2 SAT papers (freely available on gov.uk) to practise under timed conditions — 45 minutes per paper.
- 5
For 11+ preparation: the GL Assessment maths paper emphasises problem-solving and multi-step reasoning, not just calculation.
